1 May - at the Copacabana club for a salsa disco night, complete with free dance
class.

Both events will raise money for Manchester CSC's partner project to
extend a market garden and extend the tree nursery in the rural José
Martí cooperative in the Los Árabos area of Eastern Matanzas province.
thanks to your generous solidarity and support we have now sent £2,000
as a first instalment of the £5,000 needed to complete the project.
We've done well but there is still a lot to do.
Let's see if we can get this completed for 2009, the 50th year of the Cuban Revolution.

Manchester CSC Regular Monthly Meeting
first Monday of the Month, New Venue
Manchester CSC has a new home for its monthly meetings: The
Unicorn Pub, Church Street.

Meetings are at 7.30 on the First Monday of the month (unless its a
public holiday, in which case the next day, Tuesday). No August
meeting.
Both the Feb (4th) and March (3rd) meetings will focus on Health in
Cuba - details to follow.
All
friends of the Cuban people and their revolution welcome. We
have
a business meeting that lasts 60-90 minutes and then sometimes then have
a drink and a chat. Every other month or so we have a
focussed
discussion
preceded by a talk or a film.
In
September 2000 we decided to formally make direct
links
with a community in Matanzas province.
This
is a good focus for building the Campaign locally, as well
as being of direct benefit to the community.
